What We Believe
Columbia Presbyterian Church is rooted in the tradition of the Protestant Reformation, which is fully expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. This confession affirms the sovereignty of God over all things including the work of salvation. It is God himself that mobilizes his people towards works of evangelism, mercy, and justice and compels them to long for the fullness of the coming new creation. The Reformed tradition is just one piece in the mosaic of God’s historic, global Church. Columbia Presbyterian is wholeheartedly devoted to participating in that work by confessing the orthodox ecumenical creeds (such as the Apostles and Nicene Creeds), submitting itself joyfully to the Word of God, and claiming total allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ.
